Toy Storage Crate

Storage Crates from 2x4’s

My son has a lot of toys, as do a lot of kids, and we are playing catch up with storage which led to the storage crates. I had a few things that I wanted to accomplish with the storage before I built it:

  • Easy to make

  • Cheap to make

  • Stack-able

  • He can use it for storage later on without it looking like a kids toy bin.

With those in mind, and after seeing something similar, I designed these crates. I made them with simple 2×4’s from the local home center. Now I planed them down to made the slat width smaller but that is not necessary. So if you don’t have a planer, you can skip that part. It’s easy to adapt and make it your own. If you have a bandsaw or table saw and some glue, you could easily build a version of this.
