Storage Crates from 2×4’s

Storage Crates from 2×4’s

Storage Crates

My son has a lot of toys, as do a lot of kids, and we are playing catch up with storage which led to the storage crates. I had a few things that I wanted to accomplish with the storage before I built it:

  • Easy to make
  • Cheap to make
  • Stack-able
  • He can use it for storage later on without it looking like a kids toy bin.

With those in mind, and after seeing something similar, I designed these crates. I made them with simple 2×4’s from the local home center. Now I planed them down to made the slat width smaller but that is not necessary. So if you don’t have a planer, you can skip that part. It’s easy to adapt and make it your own. If you have a bandsaw or table saw and some glue, you could easily build a version of this.

If you missed the post on the toner transfer, be sure to check it out here. It’s an easy and cheap way to add print text and graphics to your work.
