This box is primarily made of Walnut that looked pretty rough in the beginning as 4/4 rough sawn lumber that sat in a barn for decades. However, once I planed past the grime, I found some gorgeous grain hiding beneath.
The lining is made of un-finished Spanish Cedar, typical of a humidor.
The walnut part of the box was sprayed with between 8 and 10 coats of gloss “Instrument Lacquer”. The top was then wet sanded up to 12,000 grit and then hit with wax polish to give it the mirror finish.
